this is on my watchlist. any comments on the film without giving too much away?
people have said it’s like hitchcock. they aren’t wrong. it’s very clever. rooney mara is great. some bits actually reminded me of de palma’s DRESSED TO KILL for some reason. i’m not sure all its conceptual threads work together nicely. in either case, the tensions are interesting. its resolution comes on too fast and too hard, readily revealing all its secrets to its audience before sufficient suspense can be built; soderbergh should have played up the paranoia a bit more. in either case, i liked it.
